Some People Call Me Mom

About Me

I’m a child of God. (Luckily, God takes us as we are.)

I’m doing the best I can and sometimes that isn’t that impressive. (You know that kid that other parents always mutter under their breath about? I’m probably that kid.)

I’m a 30 something mother of 4. There is Lach, our 10 year old webkinz fanatic. Laren, our 8 year old mother. Luc, our 5 year old people pleaser and all around sensitive boy. Then there is Liam, our 3 year old nose picking whirlwind. That last description wasn’t very flattering but I’m all about honesty around here.

I am married to an amazing man who loves me. (Even though I can’t order for him in a restaurant, find cooking less than fascinating, and turned his world upside down last year.) Yup. He is of a very rare breed. (He also wanted me to mention that his favorite nickname for me is “Hot Librarian” - so maybe that clears up the whole “ordering, cooking, and psycho depression thing”)

I am still trying to figure out what I would like to do when I grow up. I was encouraged once to do “that” thing that I would look back on when I was old and decrepit and wish I had done. If you aren’t confused by that sentence you will get along just fine around here on this blog. As soon as I get it figured out I’ll let you in on it.

As for now? I enjoy reading. Most people discuss the symbolism, prose, metaphors, what have you when they talk books. I don’t read those kinds of books… I read fluff. I read romance, mystery, even the occasional tea related book. I read to escape - not to dissect what the author’s intent was. Oh and I can’t talk about books without mentioning Jen Lancaster. She has an awesome sense of humor (she also uses some language that may be deemed objectionable - so if you have an issue with it don’t clicky the link).

I enjoy photography. I haven’t been out as much as I like, but at one point it was one of my lifelines.

I have a deep and abiding love for a few certain T.V. shows. Luckily Jon seems to enjoy them too. We watch House, Bones, CSI (not CSI Miami - Horatio and his sunglasses bug my husband. That seems to be a common feeling from other CSI watchers we know), Scrubs and our DVD collection of Arrested Development. There might be others we like and enjoy - but these are the only ones that are “About Me” worthy. (Links are for those who might possibly have been living under rocks for the last 10 years.)

This blog is me. My joys, my failures, my life, my kids, my faults, my dreams… you get the picture. I’m not perfect and I won’t pretend to be.
